The ExactWeld 230 enables precision laser welding of small metal parts. Utilizing a fiber laser, robotic part clamping and positioning, user friendly software, and an optional integrated vision system, it maximizes weld quality, production yields, process consistency and operator productivity. It is ideal for medical manufacturing, including endoscope production, and the fabrication of precision sensors, jewelry, watches and automotive electronics.
ExactWeld 230 comprises a 200 W (400 W optional) fiber laser, robotic part clamping and four axes (x, y, z, θ) positioning, user friendly software, an optional integrated vision system, and factory automation capabilities (Industry 4.0/IIoT ready) to enhance the quality, yields and throughput of small metal part welding. ExactWeld 230 also incorporates Coherent’s unique, patented SmartWeld™ technology for producing complex “beam wobble” patterns, including even circular and zigzag paths. SmartWeld™ enables bridging of larger gap widths which relaxes fit up tolerances, increases process flexibility, and delivers welds with higher quality and reproducibility.
Unlike many competitive products, which address only part of the entire welding process (e.g. just a laser sub-system, part handling robotics or process monitoring equipment), Coherent ExactWeld 230 delivers a complete, end-to-end solution. For example, in addition to the laser welding engine, this may also include an integrated vision system for either operator or automated part monitoring, custom, pneumatically actuated, precision part fixturing (including sensors), and a rotary table for part loading/unloading. Plus, Coherent backs up ExactWeld 230 with complete process development support to aid in the production of task-specific process recipes, plus operator training to ensure proficiency in system use.
